Thankyou!
The overwhelming generosity of Australians has been demonstrated once again with a new record result in the national Woolworths Fresh Future Appeal, raising vitally needed dollars for children's hospitals around the nation.
Throughout August and September, Woolworths supermarkets across Australia ran community fundraising events for the Fresh Future Appeal, raising a total of over five million dollars.
Over the past 19 years in excess of $45 million dollars has been raised by the Fresh Future Appeal with 100% of funds being donated to hospitals across the nation to purchase vital medical equipment and fund research and facilities especially for children.
Woolworths Chief Executive Officer, Michael Luscombe said, "We thank all our customers who have helped raise this extraordinary amount. A very special thank you to the Woolworths staff around the nation who have all worked hard and donated their time and own money to help achieve this result".
Allocation of funds to hospitals will take place during October and November.
History of Fresh Future
In one of Australia's biggest fundraising success stories, Woolworths has helped to collect millions of dollars over the past twelve years for children's hospitals around the country through the Fresh Future Children's Hospital Appeal. Now, every August and September, thanks to the generosity of customers and staff at all Woolworths stores around Australia, Fresh Future raises millions of dollars for local children's hospitals and wards.
In addition to generous personal donations, funds are raised by Woolworths Supermarkets holding hundreds of sausage sizzles, selling thousands of raffle tickets and running numerous cake stalls, lamington drives, trivia nights and jellybean guessing competitions.
Woolworths Supermarkets also sell various fundraising merchandise at their checkouts, including Fresh Future floral bouquets.
100% of funds raised go to children's hospitals and children's wards around Australia to fund facilities, equipment and medical equipment to help Australia's sickest children. In 2006 The Woolworths Fresh Future Children's Hospital Appeal raised $4.1 million – a fundraising record for Woolworths!
