For the past two years Woolworths Supermarkets have supported the National Breast Cancer Centre (NBCC) in taking its message of breast awareness and the importance of finding breast cancer early to women across Australia. This has been achieved through a series of regional public information forums.

The NBCC's Breast Health Forums are free of charge and feature talks by local breast cancer survivors, breast cancer experts and special celebrity guests. The forums provide potentially lifesaving information to women about breast cancer symptoms, how to recognise them, and what to do if they find a change in the look or feel of their breast.

The main barriers to successful treatment of breast cancer are the fear and denial that may prevent women from finding the disease early, and a lack of knowledge about changes that could signal breast cancer and what to do about them. Woolworths' support in helping NBCC to promote our message and reach women in regional and rural communities is invaluable.
