Joshua

Joshua is a very thoughtful 9 years old young man who is a mad Tigers football fan.

Joshua had a traumatic bike accident that saw him come off his BMX bike in February this year. He has trouble breathing, felt dizzy and began coughing up blood. He had badly damaged and ruptured his stomach. Joshua was taken to Hospital and had major surgery to repair his stomach. He can't remember much but does remember being in 2 ambulances, many Dr's and nurses, wanting a drink but not being allowed to have one; that he had a blood transfusion and was in Intensive Care for a week. Joshua remembers telling his mum before he went into surgery that he loved her very much. He now has a big good 'war story' scar down his stomach. He misses some of the nurses but is very happy to be home and is slowly getting better.

He loved the new Playground at the Hospital and will never forget the Starlight Room.

When he gets better Joshua looks forward to getting back to playing football, in the meantime he loves playing with his X-Box. A big Tigers fan, his favourite person is Benji Marshall because he is a great footballer.

Joshua loves his Maccas, and his family likes to have lots of BBQ's and enjoy watching movies together.

Maths and Reading are his favourite things at school. While he is a very thoughtful young man he thinks he can be quite loud.

Joshua is looking forward to being a Hero to meet other Heroes. To the Woolies team he says 'thank you for choosing me'. To the Hospital staff he says,' thank you for taking such good care of him, his family are greatful to all the Dr's and nurses.'

If granted one wish it would be that there were no sick children. If he could change one thing in the world, it would be better grips on the handle bars of BMX bikes!!
