We are committed to employing and training young Australian workers. Thirty-five percent of our workforce is currently aged between 16 and 20. We also support youth-oriented educational and cultural programs including Harmony Day & Students in Free Enterprise.

Harmony Day on 21 March is an opportunity for all Australians to celebrate our cultural diversity, re-commit to our common values of respect and goodwill, and to say 'no' to racism.

Woolworths is a major supporter of the Department of Immigration's Harmony Day initiatives and is proud to once again have our supermarkets taking part in celebrations in 2007. Joining forces with local Scouts and Guides groups, selected stores will host community barbeques and other activities to celebrate Australian multiculturalism on the weekend of the 17th/18th March 2007.
