Strawberry Heart Biscuits

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup pure icing sugar, sifted
  • ½ tsp strawberry essence
  • 10g soft butter
  • 2 -3 tsp hot water
  • 2 drops red food colouring

Method:

  1. Flatten biscuit dough into a round disc. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 20 minutes or until firm. Roll out between 2 sheets of baking paper. Using a heart shaped cutter cut out 12 heart shapes. Place onto prepared baking tray. Bake for 12 minutes or until light golden and firm to the touch. Cool on tray for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
  2. Combine icing sugar, strawberry essence, butter, hot water and food colouring in a bowl. Stir until smooth. Spread a little icing onto one biscuit and top with another. Stand on a wire rack to set. Continue with remaining biscuits.
