Australias first click fly and collect shopping service at Melbourne Airport
Wednesday, 15 May 2013: Woolworths is launching Australia’s first airport grocery collection service at Melbourne Airport today, which will save busy travellers time with a convenient way to fill up the fridge after a trip away.
Kate Langford, Head of Online Business Development for Woolworths Supermarkets, said; “We know that going to the supermarket after a family holiday, business trip or long day of travel can be a chore for many customers. This service is a new way that we can help to make our customers’ lives that little bit easier by giving them a very convenient way to shop.
“This innovation in supermarket shopping allows customers to collect their pre-ordered groceries for free after they step off the plane so they can spend less time in the supermarket and more time doing the things they want or need to do.
“Our Melbourne customers can simply order their groceries online or via the Woolworths App and choose to collect them at Melbourne Airport with the peace of mind that they never need to come home to an empty pantry or fridge.
“Our customers are increasingly embracing online and mobile platforms as a convenient and hassle free way to shop. The addition of Melbourne Airport to our already extensive click&collect service means that our customers can collect their groceries as soon as they walk out of the airport saving them time and allowing them to get home sooner.
“Melbourne Airport is the second busiest airport in the country and the Sydney to Melbourne route is the fourth busiest route in the world so we were excited to work with Melbourne Airport to launch this new service,” said Ms Langford.

In addition, the new service will provide a convenient way for the more than 14,000 people who work on the Melbourne Airport precinct to complete their grocery shopping,” said Mr Woodruff.
The click&collect service has been set up in Melbourne Airport’s terminal forecourt allowing our customers to collect their groceries after they step off the plane.
Woolworths customers can order their groceries up to seven days in advance and request to pick them up via click&collect at Melbourne Airport when they shop at Woolworths Online (www.woolworthsonline.com.au) or via the Woolworths App.
Customers can select ‘Melbourne Airport’ as their collection location, once an order is complete; choose a collection time between 9am and 9pm, seven days a week and pick up their groceries from staff at the Woolworths click&collect building at the Melbourne Airport terminal forecourt.
