The mission of the RSL

For more than a century, the RSL has been a steadfast pillar of support for the Australian veteran community. Their core mission is to provide the best possible services to all generations of veterans and their families. They do this by leading and facilitating high-quality veteran services, advocating for the entitlements they deserve, and providing essential support to their sub-branches and members.

The RSL's role extends beyond service delivery; they also play a vital part in promoting and supporting commemoration activities, helping to ensure the sacrifices of our servicemen and women are never forgotten. By engaging the community through major fundraising appeals, such as the annual ANZAC Appeal and the Poppy Appeal, the RSL raises critical funds to directly assist those in need. These funds support a wide range of services, including welfare, advocacy, financial assistance, and mental health support, all of which are designed to help veterans and their families live with dignity and independence.

For over 10 years, Woolworths has been a proud and dedicated partner of the RSL. This enduring partnership has been instrumental in raising millions of dollars to support the vital work of the RSL. Together, we have raised over $14 million for veterans and their families through our support of the annual ANZAC Appeal and the Poppy Appeal.

This incredible result is thanks to the generosity of our customers, who have purchased over 2.7 million units of badges and other appeal products in our stores. These contributions directly fund the RSL’s services, providing essential support to those who have given so much for our country. We are honoured to stand alongside the RSL and our customers in this important mission, and we are deeply grateful for your continued support.
