I'm really disappointed with this change. I used to buy these products and I don't like the taste of the wooden cutlery?
We understand that not everyone likes the wooden cutlery feel so we have made sure we have another alternative for our customers which is made from compressed sugar cane pulp or a bagasse product. It’s the next best alternative to plastic cutlery in the market at present that is not wood.
Can I return these items to the store?
The standard returns policy will apply. You can find out more about it here.
Are these new alternative products more expensive?

What if someone has a disability and requires plastic straws to drink?
Plastic straws were removed from our stores nationally in 2018. Customers who rely on them can continue to buy packs of plastic straws at pharmacies and other outlets nominated by the government which have been given the option to continue selling them.
Will plastic cutlery in pre-prepared food like salads or plastic straws on drinks be included in the removal?
Plastic cutlery attached at the point of manufacture are not included in the removal. As part of our 2025 goals, we are committed to reducing plastics and continue to seek alternatives for our own brand product lines.
Whare are some of the alternatives on offer?
