Our pricing - understanding value at Woolworths
We are always committed to helping our customers find value. Our standard shelf prices are displayed for each product online, and in store on white shelf labels. Our yellow ticket promotions and our longer term red ticket offers highlight additional value for our customers. These are explained below.
Yellow ticket promotions
Specials are discounts off the standard shelf price for a short time - usually a week or two. Specials include discounts like “half price” and “40% off”.
Multi-buys (including “Buy More Save More” and “Mix and Save”) offer two or more products for a combined discounted price. Multi-buys show the saving off the standard shelf price.
Fresh Specials are great market prices on in-season fresh fruit & veg. Fresh Specials are always at lower prices than the week before the Fresh Special started.
Online Only Specials and Offers are for online purchases only - with discounts off the standard shelf price for a short time.
Clearances are offered in store where we are ceasing to stock a product, or it is nearing its use-by or best before date.
Red ticket offers
Lower Seasonal Price (such as a “Lower Winter Price”) is a seasonal price that is lower than the product’s standard shelf price for the previous season. The product will stay at that lower price for the whole season.
Our Lower Seasonal Price products don’t go on Special.
Everyday Low Price is an everyday price which is consistently good value, at Woolworths’ best price.
You can trust our Everyday Low Price products to be at the same price every day for several months. Our Everyday Low Price products don’t go on Special.
Lower Shelf Prices are a longer term reduction in the standard shelf price.
These products will be offered at the “Lower Shelf Price” in store and online for many months.
Our Lower Shelf Price products may go on Special from time to time.
We work hard to keep our standard shelf prices low. However, where there is an increase to our standard shelf price for a product, the white shelf label will be updated. Yellow ticket promotions off the new standard shelf price will not occur for at least 2 weeks and red ticket offers for at least 6 weeks. We take a different approach with Fresh Specials because changes in prices for our fruit & veg are more frequent - particularly as seasonal supply and demand varies.
