Grapes are small, bite-sized fruits that grow in clusters. They are available in white (which are actually green) red and black varieties. Grapes have a firm skin with a sweet, juicy flesh.
Where are grapes grown in Australia?
Grapes grow best in places with warm, dry summers and deep, rich soils. The majority of our Grapes are grown in vineyards across Australia, including Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland, south-west Western Australia, South Australia and the central region of the Northern Territory.

How to use

Know your grape varieties
Red seedless grapes
In season: November – May
Red grapes are red-purple in colour, and have a sweet and slightly tart flavour.
White seedless grapes
In season: November – May
Despite the name, these grapes are actually green to cream in colour. White grapes have smooth skin, firm, crisp flesh and a sweet taste.
Black seedless grapes
In season: December – May
This variety has dark-purple to black skin with a silvery coating. Black grapes are rich in flavour with a rich, sweet taste.
Fun facts
- Grapes are one of the oldest edible plants to be cultivated, along with olives. Fossils indicate the consumption of grapes dates back as far as 5000BC.
- Grapes don't become sweeter once picked, so choose grapes that are ready to eat for best flavour.
- Red and black grapes may have a silvery, dusty appearance. This is called bloom, and is a natural protective coating that keeps grapes fresh.
- Grapes are a source of fibre, which helps support a healthy gut*.

- To extend their life, separate grapes and store them in an airtight container in the freezer.
