Expert vets advise pet owners to gradually introduce new food to a dog’s diet to ensure a smooth and healthy transition, and Baxter’s labelling carries these instructions as well. How can I get some independent advice if my dog is unwell?

What standards are Baxters dog food made to meet?

Baxter’s dog food is manufactured compliant to the requirements of the Australian Standard, AS 5812:2017 - Manufacturing and Marketing of Pet Food. The manufacturing sites are audited on a yearly basis to ensure consistent manufacture of quality products and compliance to Woolworths quality requirements. Additionally, the manufacturing sites hold independant quality certifications to global food safety standards.

What should I do if I think my dog is unwell after eating Baxter's dog food?

If a pet owner suspects Baxter's pet food has caused illness to their pet, they can speak to their Veterinarian. If the Veterinarian suspects a link they will lodge a Petfast incident. Petfast is a centralised system, reports and trends are reviewed by the AVA (Australian Veterinary Association).

What are the ingredients of Baxter's dog food?

The ingredients included in the products are non-toxic and suitable for use in pet food, with some ingredients also meeting the standards for human consumption.

What should I do if I have leftover pet food?

A dry kibble should be kept in its original container or transferred to another container. The bag or container must be fully sealed, stored away from direct sunlight. Canned dog food should be fed immediately after opening or once opened, it should be kept refrigerated at 1-4°C. Dog rolls must be kept refrigerated, we do not recommend freezing as the quality may change.
