Excel Advanced Skills Workbooks: Advanced Mathematics Year 5 Ages 10-11

Year 5 Advanced mathematics is part of the Excel Advanced Skills series which provides students with challenging extension work in Mathematics. Each book in the series supports the requirements of the Australian Curriculum (Mathematics) and covers the Strands of Number and Algebra, Measurement and Geometry, and Statistics and Probability.

Section 1: Ten units, each focused on a specific topic from the Australian Curriculum. Each unit is divided into two parts, A and B, with questions at two levels of advanced difficulty to provide students with graded practice. The level of difficulty is indicated by a star system. Unit A provides work at an advanced four-star level. Unit B work at a more challenging five-star level.

Section 2: Over 60 pages of 30 carefully graded units with each page covering all three strands of the Australian Curriculum. The topic of each question is in the same order in each unit, with the questions becoming progressively more difficult for students. Each unit is divided into two parts, A and B, with 36 questions over three levels of difficulty to provide students with more graded practice. Units 1 to 15A are at a difficult three-star level and Units 1 to 15B are at an advance four-star level. Units 16 to 30A are at an advanced four-star level and Units 16 to 30B are the the more challenging five-star level.
