The design has two bite pads that comfortably fit between the upper and lower molars to re-establish the natural freeway space. The Dura-Comfort also has stability wings for extra safety and less interference with the upper-side gum tissue. Dura-Comfort guards utilise natural tissue retention between the lips, cheek, and tongue to be held in place. There are no clasps that attach to the teeth and it does not require the teeth to hold the appliance in place.
