Time for Phonics 3 (Ages 6-7)
The Time for Phonics Series has been developed from the guidelines of the English and Reading Curriculum. It has been created by an experienced teacher/author who has written many other eductional resources for young children.
Each Book has a wealth of graded activities with colour illustrations to make the process more meaningful and enjoyable for children. As activities in each book are completed, the child will develop proficient word attack and literacy skills. There is also a scope for revision built into each book, which will assist in the learning process. Assessment tasks are included for diagnostic purposes.
Time for Phonics Book 3: Single sounds and blends in word families continues the theme of developing phonic awareness in word families with more blends and core words that are essential to all reading matter. Graded sentences support an increased understanding and application of list words and their meanings. There is a gentle introduction to homophones and homographs that appear in some word families.
Decoding words using syllables and some simple spelling rules with the addition of compound words as well as word puzzles all extend to this exciting literacy journey. The student personal word box helps to individualise children's needs in each set of activities.
