Nail Trimming Tips: Try locating the nail bed, or quick, inside the dog's nail. It contains blood vessels and nerves. The quick is easily visible in light-colored nails, but often difficult to see in dark nails. Be very careful and cut the nail well short of the quick. The cutting guard on this clipper will hep in cutting off a short length of nail at a time. If you accidentally do cut the quick, apply styptic powder to hep stop the bleeding. After trimming the nails, smooth the sharp edges with a nail file or emery board.
