DiaRelieve adsorbs water to help improve stool consistency and provide symptomatic relief of diarrhoea.
Diarrhoea is passing looser or more frequent stools than what is normal for you. You or a family member may need to go to the toilet more often.
Diosmectite is a naturally occurring multilamellar clay silicate with high surface area and strong binding properties. The clinical efficacy of diosmectite to reduce diarrhoea duration has been proven in several clinical trials:
- Diosmectite significantly decreased stool output in children with acute watery diarrhoea by 33%1
- Diosmectite shortened duration of diarrhoea by 26%2
DiaRelieve can adsorb up to 8 x its own weight in water, it is not absorbed into the intestine.

It is recommended that DiaRelieve is taken between meals. In children, the treatment of diarrhoea symptoms must be accompanied by the early administration of oral rehydration therapy to avoid dehydration. For adults, the treatment of diarrhoea should be accompanied by oral rehydration therapy to help avoid dehydration.
