Mepitel is a gentle wound contact layer featuring Safetac technology on both sides-the less-pain contact layer with silicone adhesion. It is designed to gently conform to the skin without adhering to moist wounds, allowing for easy removal without damaging the skin, resulting in less pain for the patient.
Safetac technology also protects new tissue and intact skin, helping wounds remain undisturbed to support faster natural healing. It seals the wound margins to protect the skin from leaks and maceration.
The perforated design of Mepitel allows exudate to pass through to a secondary absorbent dressing. It can be left in place while delivering topical treatments, reducing the need for frequent primary dressing changes and allowing secondary dressing changes without disturbing the wound.
Mepitel promotes true undisturbed healing, remaining in place for up to 14 days. Clinically proven to heal scalds faster and with less pain and cost compared to silver sulfadiazine, it leaves no residues and maintains its functional qualities over time. Its transparency enables easy assessment of healing progress without removing the contact layer.
Mepitel is designed to protect both the wound and surrounding skin and is clinically proven for use in treating a wide range of wounds, including:
- Skin tears
- Skin abrasions
- Sutured wounds
- Partial-thickness burns
- Lacerations
- Partial and full-thickness grafts
- Diabetic ulcers
- Venous and arterial ulcers
Additionally, Mepitel can be used as a protective layer on non-exuding wounds, blisters, fragile skin, and exposed delicate tissues. Its open structure allows topical ointments to pass through when clinically indicated.
Mepitel Soft Silicone Wound Contact Layer can be used for:

Follow instructions on pack or as directed by your healthcare professional.
1. Cleanse the wound in accordance with normal procedures and dry the surrounding skin thoroughly.
2. Choose a size of Mepitel that covers the wound and the surrounding skin by at least 2 cm. If required, Mepitel can be cut.
3. While holding the larger protective film, remove the smaller one. Moisten gloves to avoid adherence to Mepitel.
4. Apply Mepitel over the wound and remove the remaining protective film. Smooth Mepitel in place onto the surrounding skin, ensuring a good seal. If more than one piece of Mepitel is required, overlap the dressings, making sure that the pores are not blocked.
5. Apply a secondary absorbent dressing pad on top of Mepitel. In contoured or jointed areas (e.g., under arm, under breast, inner elbow, groin, deep wounds), ensure sufficient padding is applied to keep the Mepitel held flat against the surface of the wound.
6. Fix in place with a suitable fixation device.
Store below 30°C, in a cool dry place away from direct sunlight and heat.

If you see signs of infection e.g., fever or the wound or surrounding skin becoming red, warm or swollen, consult a health care professional for appropriate treatment.
When used on partial thickness burns with high risk of rapid granulation or after facial resurfacing: avoid placing pressure upon the dressing, lift and reposition the dressing at least every second day.
When used on bleeding wounds or wounds with high viscosity exudate, Mepitel should be covered with a moist absorbent dressing pad.
When Mepitel is used for the fixation of skin grafts and protection of blisters, the dressing should not be changed before the fifth day post application.
Do not use Mepitel on patient and/or user with known hypersensitivity to the ingoing materials/components of the product.
Do not reuse. If reused performance of the product may deteriorate, cross contamination may occur.
Sterile. Do not use if inner package is damaged or opened prior to use. Do not re-sterilise.

Change of Mind Returns Policy
If you have changed your mind about a product purchased from Healthylife, we will provide a refund at our discretion, provided that the product:
Is flagged with us for return, with valid proof of purchase, within 30 days of purchase.
Is in its original condition, including with original packaging and seals intact.
Is not a product that is an exempt product (as set out in the “Products Exempt from Change of Mind Returns” below).
Has not been used and, if a perishable product, is not expired or within 2 days of expiry.
In certain circumstances, you may be required to provide further information such as photo identification. Information collected in this manner will be stored securely in accordance with the Woolworths Group Privacy Policy. Healthylife reserves the right to refuse a refund for unverified purchases.
Return shipping is at the customer's expense for Change of Mind returns.
This policy is in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
Products Exempt from Change of Mind Returns
We will not provide a refund if you have simply changed your mind about any of the following products purchased from Healthylife (unless the product is faulty or Australian Consumer Law applies):
Rapid antigen tests
Baby formula
Prescription medicine
Compounded ‘Pharmacy Only’ items
Perfumes and colognes
Refrigerated items
Bulk or special orders
Clearance items
Underwear, intimacy, and sexual health products
If you have purchased additional items that you no longer want, we encourage you to share them with those in need, particularly the elderly, disabled, and most vulnerable in our community.
How to Process a Return for Change of Mind
Contact customer care to notify us of your return request. Provide a photo of the item packaged in its box and your original order number. Our team will validate that the item qualifies for a change of mind refund.
Package the item(s) safely into a box. You must quote your original order reference inside the box or highlight it on the outside for identification. Take a photo of the item in the box (this will be needed later).
Post the item back to us via Registered Post at your nearest Australia Post office to the return address provided by the customer care team. The return address may differ depending on your location. Do not forget to provide the tracking number to our customer care team, as we need this to finalise your return.
Once our customer care team validates the return conditions and the item is processed by Australia Post, we will process your refund. Refunds will be made using the original payment method stated on your proof of purchase and may take up to 5 working days to be processed.
Healthylife Faulty Products Policy
Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For major failures with a service, you are entitled to:
Cancel your service contract with us.
A refund for the unused portion or compensation for its reduced value.
If you receive an item that is faulty, we will happily:
Refund the purchase price of the faulty product(s).
Replace the product(s) with the same value as the original purchased item(s).
For some high-value items, Healthylife reserves the right to assess the product for acceptable quality before providing a solution.
How to Process a Return for a Faulty Product
Contact customer care, providing:
Your order number.
A description of the fault and the product(s) to be returned.
A photo of the faulty product(s).
Our team will assess the fault, and once validated, we will provide a Returns Prepaid Label to post the goods back to our warehouse at our cost, including a return tracking number.
Pack your item safely in a box and take it to the nearest Australia Post office to post the item(s) using the returns label provided. If you cannot print the labels, Australia Post staff can print them for you at the time of posting.
Once the return parcel is processed by Australia Post, our team will process your refund, which should be reimbursed within 5 working days via the same payment method used for the order.

Returns must be accompanied by a receipt or other verifiable proof of purchase, such as:
