What's the difference between baking powder, baking soda and bicarb soda?
Bicarb soda is the same as baking soda. A pure, alkaline leavening agent that's commonly used in recipes that mix moisture plus an acidic ingredient, like lemon juice, chocolate, buttermilk or honey, together to make the batter rise.
Baking powder is bicarb soda pre-mixed with an acidic ingredient, like cream of tartar, that causes baking to rise when mixed with wet ingredients.
The Lotus brand is well known for being committed to sourcing the highest quality organic ingredients and premium raw materials that taste great, without compromising shelf life. In Australia Lotus products are globally sourced, GMO free, and packed in Melbourne in allergen free production facilities. A process that uses re-sealable, oxygen barrier bags to maintain freshness.
