• Ultrafiltration membrane
  • Ultrafiltration (UF) is a separation process using membranes with pore sizes in the range of 0.1 to 0.01 micron, a low pressure membrane process for water treatment that is designed to remove turbidity causing particles including those comprised of suspended solids, bacteria, colloidal matter and proteins.
  • Typically, UF membranes will remove high molecular-weight substances, colloidal materials, and organic and inorganic polymeric molecules. Because only high-molecular weight species are removed, low applied pressures are therefore sufficient to achieve high flow rates from an Ultrafiltration membrane.
  • UF membranes have a service life of three to five years or longer, which is comparable to reverse osmosis membranes.
