This great little portable rotisserie kit was designed and manufactured by Australian engineer and bushman Rhett Thompson. His love of camping and the great Australian outdoors got him pondering one evening while turning his snags. He wanted a compact, portable and easy-to-use spit roaster that would sit there working on the side, cooking up dinner while he was free to enjoy a beverage and have a yarn with his mates. After a few prototypes, Rhett came up with the current design and his mates branded it The Little Aussie Legend. Fifteen years later, it's still the same design enjoyed by thousands of campers all around the world.
The Australian-patented carrier bracket is the key component that separates the Auspit apart from the others that have tried to copy this system and sell it on the Australian market. Together with the squeeze lock, it allows you to adjust the height of the skewer for the ideal cooking height over the fire and swing your food away to carve, adjust or baste your meat. Once you've got it in the perfect position, the bracket locks in place so it can't slowly swing away. The counter-lever skewer design in the carrier bracket ensures minimal strain on the drive motor bush, improving reliability and longevity.
The Auspit Compact Spit Roast Kit is portable, compact and easy to assemble. Quick to set up and dismantle, it's perfect for campers who want a hassle-free cooking setup. It all fits neatly into a carry bag (1050mm x 150mm x 150mm) so you can keep all your bits together and transport them with ease.
The full stainless steel portable outdoor rotisserie package is made with 304 stainless steel, ideal for areas where rust is an issue. It includes a stainless steel skewer (1m long, 12mm round), a stainless steel support post (100cm length, 20mm diameter), and 2 x 130mm prongs for holding your meat in place. The stainless construction means it's easy to clean, tough enough for rugged conditions, and built to last for years of fireside cooking.
The 8kg capacity battery-operated motor can give you up to 30 hours of run time on 2x D-size batteries . The design features nylon supports in the carrier bracket to hold the skewer in place, ensuring quiet operation with no annoying squeal while cooking. The motor hangs free, removing unnecessary strain and extending the life of the motor for long-term performance you can count on.

A large number of BBQ Spit Rotisseries' products are covered for a period of one year from the date of purchase against defects in workmanship and materials. Some even come with a 24 month warranty such as Flaming Coals branded rotisserie motors. Please refer to the product's description to check if a warranty is provided for the product.
The product warranty becomes void if the product shows evidence of being dropped, exposed to the elements, tampering, mishandling or mis-use such as excessive fire or a motor not being counter-weighted. Stainless steel is not immune to rusting/pitting and is therefore not covered under warranty.
Charcoal pans inside spit roasters are designed to take the brunt of the heat to protect the structural integrity of the spit roaster body. Due to the extreme heat generated when cooking with briquettes/charcoal, some bending of the pan is inevitable and will occur regardless of the thickness of the steel. This is not covered under warranty.
All BBQ Spit Rotisseries' products have been tested and deemed suitable for domestic use only. Using these products commercially voids the warranty. The warranty does not cover postal cost, insurance, incidental charges or any other loss incurred.
