UGears - Triceratops
UGEARS - TRICERATOPS
Assemble me. Awaken the Three-horned Beast! Ugears expands its dinosaur automaton collection with the Triceratopsa dynamic DIY wooden model of the dominant herbivore of the late Cretaceous. Powered by a metal spring and reduction gear, the model walks with lifelike motion as the tail sways in sync with its four moving legs.
Measuring up to 9 metres in length and weighing as much as 9 metric tonnes, the mighty Triceratops once roamed the plains of what is now North America around 68 million years ago. With its sharp, parrot-like beak, this herbivore grazed on low-growing vegetation and thrived in such numbers that some palaeontologists estimate it made up five-sixths of all large dinosaurs at the time.
Its most recognisable features are its massive skullnearly one-third the length of its entire bodytwo long horns above the eyes (up to 1 metre each), and a large bony frill. While some believe these features were used in defence, others suggest they played a role in courtship displays. Fossils bearing healed Tyrannosaur bite marks suggest Triceratops were both hunted and able to defend themselves. Imagine such dramatic encounters as you build, play with, and display your Ugears Triceratops alongside the Ugears Tyrannosaurus Rex.
This wind-up, walking dinosaur is a 1:32 scale mechanical model with realistic movement. The concealed winding key is stored between the shoulder bladesjust remove and insert it into either of the ratchet mechanisms on each side of the belly. If the legs block access to the slot, simply use the Start button or spin the large underside gear to shift the legs into position. Wind the spring (67 full turns), return the key, and place the model on a smooth surface. Gently hold the tail, press the Start button, and releasewatch as your Triceratops lumbers forward with snapping jaws, a bobbing frill, and a swinging tail.
Rated "Advanced" difficulty, the model includes 400 laser-cut wooden parts and takes around 8+ hours to assemble. No glue or special tools are requiredjust follow the illustrated step-by-step instructions, sanding and waxing the moving parts as needed. Once built, your Triceratops can walk up to 90100 cm on a single winding.
The Triceratops is part of Ugears growing dinosaur range, which includes the Tyrannosaurus Rex and upcoming models that will let you create your very own Cretaceous-themed collection. These captivating, educational builds spark curiosity and imagination in kids and adults alike.
A unique gift for dinosaur lovers, model enthusiasts, or anyone who enjoys clever mechanical design, the Ugears Triceratops makes a brilliant addition to any home, office, or playroom.
