Daintree Estates Australian Grown Chocolate 80g Block - Salted Caramel 52% Cocoa
Fact: Daintree Estates were the pioneers of the world's first origin chocolate crafted from Australian grown cocoa.
The cocoa in every bite of our scrumptious Australian origin chocolate is hand harvested by Australian farmers from cocoa plantations near the legendary Daintree Rainforest region of Far North Queensland. Every bite you take supports Aussie farmers, their families and local communities.
The cocoa in our Australian 52% Dark Milk Chocolate flavoured bars is hand harvested twice a year from numerous private farms. The sun ripened pods in hues of red, orange, yellow and brown are first split open and the purple beans (seeds) removed by hand, The beans are first naturally fermented for 5-7 days, then dried in the warm tropical sunshine. The dried beans are carefully roasted to perfection by our artisans, and then cracked and winnowed to separate the outer shell from the now dark bean kernel and break them into small pieces called nibs. Our roasted Australian cocoa nibs are ground up in a conche for 24 hours or longer and then mixed with Australian raw sugar, sunflower lecithin, vanilla and additional cocoa butter to adjust the mouth-feel of the final couverture which is then poured into our iconic 80g moulds and immediately packed to lock in the irresistable flavour for your enjoyment.
Did you know: There are around 40 beans in each cocoa pod, of which about two-thirds go into each 80g bar of our delicious 52% Dark Milk flavoured chocolate bars.
Tasting Notes: Smooth creamy caramel balanced with pops of natural pink salt that will leave you with a moral dilemma wondering whether you should tell your friends or not.
The 52% Dark Milk chocolate base in this bar is made from the same quality Australian origin couverture used by some of Australia's leading chocolatiers, chefs and award winning restaurants.
Chocolate is naturally gluten free.
52% high cocoa content dark milk chocolate
Cocoa is widely recognised recognised as a superfood, loaded with powerful antioxidants and naturally high in minerals such as magnesium and potassium. Many of the health benefits of cocoa can be lost in chocolate due to the presence of white sugar, non-cocoa fats and other additives used as shortcuts to appealing flavours, sweetness and mouth feel. When choosing a milk chocolate, make a healther choice by choosing one with a high cocoa content. Most milk chocolate bars contain only around 20% cocoa. Our signature Dark Milk chocolate contains a very high 52% of cocoa solids. Chocolate products made with raw sugar will also generally be better than those made with white sugar.
Warning: Theobromine in cocoa and chocolate is toxic to dogs, cats and other animals so keep it away from your pets.
Ingredients: Cocoa Mass, Australian Raw Sugar, Cocoa Butter, Milk Solids, Australian Cocoa Beans, Pink Lake Salt, Sunflower Lecithin, Natural Vanilla Powder, Natural Flavours. Minimum Cocoa Solids 52%.

How soon will I get my order from Chocolate Hunters
We know you'll be keen to get your order as quickly as possible. Orders are typically shipped within 1-2 business days depending on stock availability. If there is likely to be any delay in dispatch, we will let you know via email. Fortunately that doesn't happen often. How long your order takes to reach the address you provide for delivery will depend on how far away from Melbourne it is. All orders are dispatched from Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.
PO Boxes
Yes, we deliver non-trade orders to Post Office Boxes.
Since many Parcel Lockers are outdoors and at greater risk of heat, we won't deliver to Parcel Lockers.
What if I'm not home for the delivery?
If you're expecting a delivery and have to go out, we recommend leaving a small note on your front door to instruct the courier where they can securely leave your order in the shade. It's important you do not allow chocolate to be left unattended in direct sun as it may melt. Whilst we mark chocolate orders with a warning to avoid direct sunlight, we're unable to control individual delivery drivers and although most do pay attention, unfortunately we cannot guarantee they always will.
We understand that sometimes things don't quite go as intended and you might wish to return something you bought from us. As our products are perishable foods, we do not accept returns or offer refunds or exchanges just because you changed your mind, regretted spending the money or found the same or similar products somewhere else at a lower price.
We do expect that you receive exactly what you ordered, so if you've received something different to what you ordered, please lt us know as quickly as possible so we can set it right.
Chocolate melts
Everybody knows chocolate is made to melt. So delivering our chocolate products to you without heat affecting it during the warmer months can be a bit tricky.
Although we pack every order with materials intended to help insulate against significant temperature fluctuations whilst in transit, we cannot guarantee that deliveries of our chocolate products will not be affected by heat in the warmer months, especially in summer. Whilst our contracted courier network is generally okay for transporting chocolate, when it's left at your premises unattended in a sunny spot or left outside on a hot day, there's a high chance it could melt.
It's the cocoa fat that melts and it starts melting around 28-30C. You may not qualify for a refund or replacement just because you received heat affected chocolate. So if the weather in your area is warm, there's a few things we can suggest to reduce the risk of receiving chocolate that has melted...
Don't place an order when the forecast temperature in your area for the coming week is over 25C. Wait till the forecast temperatures are lower and order then.
Stock up with your favourite chocolate from our range in the cooler months so you can avoid ordering in summer.
Provide a delivery address where you know somebody will be present to receive the delivery in person so chocolate is not left unattended outside.
The chocolate I received doesn't look right
If you've received chocolate from Cocoa Hunters which has white blotches (heat bloom) on the surface or is a distorted shape, it's been exposed to temperatures over 28C. How long it's exposed to heat will impact whether the shape is distorted, or the surface is merely discoloured (heat bloom).
Chocolate that has melted and then resolidified is perfectly okay to eat, and will still taste exactly the same although the texture might feel a little different until it's completely melted again in your mouth. So if you don't mind how it looks, it's perfectly safe to eat and you'll still enjoy the wonderful flavours of our Australian chocolate.
Can I return heat affected chocolate for an exchange?
Yes, but only if the temperature in your location published by the Australian Bureau of Meteorology on the day of delivery is 25C or lower. Where we can confirm this, we will happily exchange heat affected chocolate once you send it back to us. We will reimburse you for the cost of postage to send it back to us and will send the replacement chocolate to you at no extra charge.
If the temperature in your location published by the Australian Bureau of Meteorology on the day of delivery is higher than 25C, a replacement is not available, sorry. We strongly recommend you hold off ordering chocolate for delivery during the warmer months and instead buy it in-store. Consider stocking up during the cooler months so you don't need to order during summer.
You're protected
