Introducing a super-telephoto lens to the Canon RF lens lineup, the Canon RF 100-500mm f/4.5-7.1 L IS USM lens is great for sports and wildlife shooting with your Canon EOS R Mirrorless camera. Despite its telephoto focal length, this lens is relatively compact, so you can enjoy successful handheld shooting. This suitability to being used without a tripod is maintained through the inclusion of Image Stabilisation and the announcement of the new Canon EOS R5 and R6 mirrorless cameras, and their included 5-axis in-body image stabilisation. Also of benefit to Sports and Wildlife users which will be using this lens proudly, is the fast and accurate Dual Nano USM AF system.
Included in the optical design of this super-telephoto zoom lens is one Super UD and six UD lens elements, which results in sharp and detailed images throughout the expansive zoom range. The lens is also designed well in physical terms, with dust and moisture-resistance as well as a fluorine coating which protects its front element from damage and makes it easier to clean smudges and fingerprints. To maintain a great user experience, the Canon RF 100-500mm lens features a configurable control ring which you can use do adjust your important shooting settings, such as aperture, ISO and exposure compensation.
