The Canon EOS R1 is primed for action performance
Subject tracking is significantly enhanced with advanced deep learning algorithms that recognize a wide range of subjects, in the EOS R1. The new Register People Priority mode allows you to prioritise specific individuals, ensuring they remain the primary focus. Additionally, the first-ever cross-type AF on an EOS R body precisely captures subject patterns, improving accuracy in challenging conditions such as subjects with horizontal lines, small sizes, or low contrast. Worried the action will happen before you are ready to capitalise? With the EOS R1 in your hand you will never miss a crucial shot again, thanks to pre-continuous shooting. You can capture sharp, focused images before you even fully press the shutter and this feature is available for both stills and video.
DIGIC Accelerator & Dual CF Express card slots
The new DIGIC accelerator of the Canon EOS R1 helps the camera handle large amounts of data quickly and efficiently and helps to improve the camera's AF speeds. Once again, the dual CF Express card slots come in handy for managing the large files that will be created.
More video-friendly features
Video users working in a more professional or serious capacity will be impressed with the Canon EOS R1, not just for the high-resolution recording modes that we have already mentioned. Canon Log 2 and Canon Log 3 are included to capture an exceptionally wide dynamic range, with Canon Log 2 offering up to 16 stops of light.
Capture ultra-high-resolution stills
The Canon EOS R1 will continue to satisfy post-shooting, with JPEG or HEIF images able to be upscaled in-camera to an impressive 96MP. This allows for higher-resolution cropped images and can be combined with in-camera Neural Network Noise Reduction for cleaner results.
Advanced & intuitive - Eye AF & co-ordinated control IS
With the improved Eye AF functionality of the EOS R1, the camera's EVF intelligently anticipates the photographer's focus by tracking eye movement, allowing for swift subject changes. Want to experience blur-free handheld shooting in a huge range of trying conditions? The enhanced coordinated Control Image Stabilisation combines the IS of the camera and compatible camera lens to provide up to 8.5 stops of stabilisation at the center and 7.5 stops at the edges, ensuring sharper images.
