A versatile image maker, the OM-System OM-5 includes both a high-resolution 2.36-million dot EVF and a 3-inch tilting and touch-sensitive LCD screen to frame your photos and videos. The EVF is great for taking the traditional approach to framing your images and is ideal in tricky lighting conditions, while the tilting LCD screen helps when framing images from tricky angles, and even for capturing well-framed POV shots - it is the best option for taking selfies and vlogging. The touch-sensitivity of this screen is great for navigating menus and it also introduces a new Starry Sky AF; this allows you to simply touch the screen to focus on the sky, which is often a tricky task.

Video-friendly features

As well as the high-resolution 4K30p video recording, the OM-5 offers a range of features that will appeal to vloggers and video enthusiasts of every level. This includes Full HD video recording at 120p, which is great for producing eye-catching slow-motion videos, and a new Vertical Video function that makes for easy upload to various social media platforms. This camera can be charged via USB and this connection also makes it possible to utilise the new webcam mode. There's no need to rush your take with the OM-5, as this camera includes unlimited recording times, while a brand new OM-Log400 codec is included, a filmmaking-ready picture profile that can capture every aspect of detail that nature has to offer.

Advanced shooting functions

The OM-System OM-5 is not just crammed with video-friendly functions but also a range of features that landscape and travel photographers and even bloggers will enjoy. This includes Live ND filters that are ideal for introducing motion into your photography, particularly when paired with the camera's bulb setting, and a 50MP high-res handheld shot mode, which helps to produce stunning large-format prints. This camera is even capable of framing any wildlife that you may encounter on your treks into the wilderness, no matter how fast they may be travelling, thanks to the advanced subject tracking and up to 30 frames per second continuous shooting (10FPS with AF tracking).
