The brand new Sony A7R Mark V provides brilliant image quality in a wide range of shooting conditions, thanks to its pairing of a powerful BIONZ X image processor, and high-resolution 61MP EXMOR CMOS image sensor. This combination is capable of an impressive 15-stops of dynamic range, which means the camera is a wonderful performer in dim lighting and in high-contrast conditions. Throughout the ISO range of 100-32000 (expandable to 102400), the Sony A7R Mark IV delivers high-resolution images with incredibly low levels of image noise - you can feel confident to let the Sony A7R Mark V spread its wings and show you what it can really do.
8K video recording
The Sony A7R Mark IV is powerful for stills but this is not its only strength, with 8K24/25p video recording also available. Other high-end movie options are onboard for the cinematographers, including 4K recording with 6.2K oversampling, 4:2:2 10-bit recording, and even Full HD 120fps high frame rate recording for slow-motion endeavours.
Built-in IS and fast AF performance
The high-end imaging performance is advanced by the inclusion of a host of top-tier functions in the A7R Mark V, starting with a built-in Image Stabilisation system, which provides up to 8 stops of stabilisation. This equates to blur-free images and smooth and steady video recording, more often than not. The Sony A7R Mark V makes use of 693 phase detection points to produce fast and accurate AF performance. This AF system is extremely succesful at tracking moving subjects, with vast improvements made to Eye AF and animal tracking when compared to previous models. This camera is great at finding focus even in dark scenarios (-4EV), while its impressive performance is best for harnessing the 10 frames per second continuous shooting with AF/AE tracking.

The Sony A7R Mark V is a rugged workhorse with advanced dust and moisture resistance allowing for free and confident use in the elements. This camera includes a new anti-dust system to actively remove particles and a shutter-close setting for when it is powered off. Notably, this camera features a heat dissipating structure for enhanced video record times (8K for 30 minutes), while the dual memory card slots are CFExpress type compatible, so the larger files are well managed.
Both modern and classic image composition is supported in the Sony A7R Mark V, with a class-leading 9.44-million dot EVF available, as well as a 4-axis multi-angle touch LCD screen, which measures a huge 3.2-inches in size. The touch-sensitivity of this LCD screen is ideal for menu navigation and it also provides touch focus, tracking and shutter options, and pinch-in and out gestures can also be utilised.
Video enthusiasts will be pleased to find both a microphone input and headphone output on this impressive mirrorless camera, so a higher quality of audio can be harnessed, to match the premium video quality. A USB-C port supplies power delivery, while a full-size HDMI port is also available.
Custom functions & advanced operation
The Sony A7R Mark V features a range of custom functions that users of all levels can use to make the most of its impressive performance. This includes a silent mode, My Dial, and over 42 different menus to be registered, under the My Menu option. More advanced operations that this camera is capable of include switching between full-frame and APS-C formats, in-camera trimming, a Bulb timer and much more.
