About The Little Penguin & The Big Penguin

The Little Penguin is small, curious and brave. She loves splashing in icy shallows, gliding across the ice, and collecting tiny shards of ice that sparkle like diamonds. The Big Penguin is a little bigger, calmer, and always ready to set off on new adventures across frozen lakes and snow-covered shores. Together, they remind us just how magical nature can be - especially the cold, wondrous polar and southern habitats that penguins call home, right here in the great Southern Hemisphere we share with Australia.
Did you know there are over 15 different species of penguins? Contrary to what many think, none live at the North Pole - and some even make their home right here in Australia, alongside the far southern reaches of Antarctica, New Zealand and the Galapagos Islands. Sadly, the sea ice and cold coastal habitats where all penguins live are melting, making it harder for them to find food and safe places to survive - a threat that hits close to home for our Australian penguin friends too.
The Little Penguin and The Big Penguin have a few simple tips for all the little eco-heroes down under:

• Recycle your waste and pick up litter when you see it in nature - keeping our oceans and coasts clean for penguins and all sea life, including our local Aussie penguins.
