Indian Almond Leaves (Terminalia catappa), widely known as Catappa leaves, have been trusted by aquarists for centuries to promote health and healing in soft-water fish. Far from just an ancient remedy, modern scientific studies back up their benefits.
The natural tannins released by Indian Almond Leaves are proven to accelerate the healing of wounds and fin damage, inhibit fungal and bacterial growth, and even mitigate the impact of external parasites.
Soft-water fish species have evolved over millennia in tannin-rich environments. Keeping them in sterile, "sparkling clean" water can sometimes leave them susceptible to stress and illness. Introducing Indian Almond Leaves recreates their natural habitat, lowering stress and boosting their natural immunity.

Boil & Soak: Place the leaves in boiling water for a short time, then allow them to steep and cool. This helps them sink immediately and jump-starts the release of beneficial tannins.

Add to the Tank: Drop the prepared leaves directly into your aquarium.

Maintenance: Over time, the leaves will naturally decay and form a beneficial biofilm. They can be safely kept in the aquarium until they are fully broken down or consumed by shrimp, snails, and bottom-dwellers.
