Cocoa Butter has a natural melting point around human body temperature between 34-38C. Cocoa Butter is chiefly used in chocolate-making to improve the mouth feel. It's strong crystalline structure is that gives chocolate it's 'snap' and is a far better option in chocolate than other vegetable or dairy fats.
Cocoa Butter is also used in topical skin care preparations.
4000 years of legend
The story of cocoa beans started over 4000 years ago with a medicinal drink consumed by the Mayans. Cocoa was revered for it's health benefits including mental acuity, energy and protective properties which we know today as antioxidants. Naturally high in magnesium, potassium and polyphenols, cocoa is a superfood with few rivals.
