Early season fruit (September-November) may retain a green tinge even when ripe so look for fruit that feels heavy, yields to slight pressure and has a sweet mango aroma.
How to Store:
To get the best taste out of your mangoes, follow these simple storage tips:
- If your mangoes are not ripe enough, store them at room temperature and out of the sun for a few days until ripe
- Never store mangoes in plastic bags – mangoes need air!
Where it's Grown:
Mangoes are grown in the tropical and sub tropical climates of Australia. Main growing areas include Darwin & Katherine in the NT, Mareeba, Bowen & Bundaberg in QLD and Kununurra & Carnarvon in WA.
