Green Nashi pears have a cream/white flesh which is sweet, firm, crisp and juicy, with a green to yellow russeted skin colour. Nashi pear is unlike the typical European style pear, it's ready to eat and does not need time to ripen and soften.
How to Pick:
Pick a light yellow in colour nashi pear that it is firm, round and dense. Firmness and roundness indicate freshness, density indicates juiciness.
Be gentle with Nashi pears, as their light coloured skin are very delicate and they mark easily!
How to Store:
Store nashi pear in the fridge and handle with care – they’re delicate, despite their firmness.
Where it's Grown:
Over 90 per cent of Nashi Pears are grown in Goulburn Valley, Victoria.
