What is tooth sensitivity?
Tooth sensitivity occurs when the softer dentine underneath hard tooth enamel becomes exposed to reveal microscopic channels that lead to the tooth nerve. When this is exposed dentine comes into contact with hot or cold, sweet, sour or even your toothbrush it can trigger the nerve causing a short sharp pain.
How is sensitivity caused?
- Gum recession often as a result of over vigorous brushing
- Enamel erosion caused by fizzy, sweet and or acidic drinks
- Wearing away of the tooth enamel

Sensodyne Rapid Relief acts rapidly to create a mineral-like seal over the surface of the dentine and within the microscopic channels. This prevents stimulus from reaching the nerve. Twice daily brushing provides beg lasting protection from sensitivity. It also cleans, freshens, protects against tooth decay and helps strengthen enamel.
