Spencers Oregano Medium 15g

Product Details

Closely related to marjoram, oregano is a small perennial (Origanum Vulgare), native to the Mediterranean region where it has been cultivated since ancient times.

The name oregano comes from the Greek words oros and ganos meaning 'joy of the mountain', describing the pleasant aroma and appearance of the herb growing on Greek hillsides.

Oregano has a heady, warm aroma and a pleasant, slightly musty flavour, stronger than that of marjoram. It combines well with basil in pizza toppings and pasta dishes. It is also used in marinades, pizza toppings, meat dishes and stuffing.
