Ok to have as a back up. I would always prefer to have fresh prawns but these are handy to have as a back up in the freezer. They are all prepped and ready to go so great to just defrost and put in a salad. I probably wouldn't buy them again as like I said, I'd prefer fresh prawns and they are still quite expensive

Jumbo prawns alright! These prawns were a tough one for me to find and after hunting at multiple Woolies stores I finally caught some in the seafood freezer section next to the deli. The packaging is eye catching and includes a delicious suggested recipe on the back in case you need some inspiration.  These prawns are very convenient as they have already been pealed, cleaned and cooked so all you need to do is thaw them and do what you please. I added them to a sour soup (sinigang) and used them for garlic and spinach prawns. I found the prawns big, plump and juicy and they melted in my mouth and weren’t chewy, but they had no flavour to them. A huge negative to me about these prawns is that they are from Indonesia! Surely we have plenty of prawns here in Australia that we could be using instead? They are also expensive selling at $22. Sorry but this one isn’t something I would purchase again. Not only because of my points above but I don’t usually eat prawns.

Frozen product convenience no waste! This product is frozen the convenience of this is you can take a small amount out and use in cooking and there is no waste. This pack seemed to last forever ! Being peeled and cleaned all the hard work was done for me with no mess! Awesome ! I used it in a jumbo rice dish , in a garlic prawn dish, in a salad, in a korma.  I did find when thawed  they were a bit watery you have to thaw completely and then rinse and drain because they had a strange taste if you didn't.  Thank you bunch

OK I Guess. Thanks Woolies Firstly For the Chance too Try These...So When I got these out of the Frozen Seafoods Section, I thought, I'll Keep these for a special Occasion Being Quite Expensive at $27 for a 500gr Bag, they Deserve "The Banquet"... Closer inspection through the Clear window, reveals, Big Cleaned Chunky Vannamei Prawns...Well these will Be Very Tasty in Some Malaysian Chilli Prawns, Marinated Prawn Kebabs, Prawn Noodle Salad, Butterflied  Out and Bashed n Crumbed, Honey Sesame Prawns...Oh My Mind was Running and saliva flowing at the Delights too Follow... So, I settled on my Favourite, "Malaysian Chilli Prawns" from My Beloved Hawker Stall in Petaling Jaya Selangor just around the corner from My Home in the 90's..Rich, Decadent and Whoaaa laced with That Fire from 40 Red Chillies.. They were Served with some Hot Steamed Jasmine Rice, Slices of Cucumber, and a little Sambal on the side... Faces Eagerly awaiting, I Served Up...Nice, Very Hot...Did I Say Very Hot...Thennnnnn, what I can ONLY DESCRIBE as a Strange After TasteDarn...And yes, that's the Vannamei Prawns.  Shame Really, and So, NO, They Are Not Australian, But a Product of Vietnam....Whether it's They Are Farmed in Interesting Toned Waters, Or A Chemical Preserve used in the Process when Cooking them...But, they're OK I Guess, for a meal that I was Looking Forward Too, But Disappointing when that Hit, And Think We Could Do A Lot Better on this..Having The Best Seafood in The World, Spoilt with Not Only Choise, But A Great Prawn Variety from our Pristine Coastal Waters, and Certainly with Never any After Taste... So Only 3's on this one, anddddddd...unfortunately I won't Be purchasing again, as It Is A Worry, with so many Chemicals in Foods today, and the repercussions they have on Health and Wellness down the track.... Cheers..

Flavourless prawns. Firstly, I would like to thank Bunch for such a generous sample. This is a product I wouldn’t normally buy as I am fortunate to live in an area where we have local prawn trawlers. Australia has some of the best seafood in the world so it was good to be able to do a comparison. Pro’s cooked, peeled and cleaned good size prawns Con’s no resealable bag imported from Vietnam flavourless tough texture Verdict: These frozen, imported prawns work out to be $44 a kilo and don’t stack up in flavour or texture to the locally caught prawns I buy direct from the trawlers for $30 a kilo. I won’t purchase these again and will continue to support our local industries by purchasing locally caught seafood.

A bit watery. I did these in a creamy garlic sauce. The flavour of the prawns was all right but the texture was a bit watery for me. I probably wouldn't buy them again.
