A fresh guide to Australian apples

Apples are juicy, crisp fruits that come in a variety of colours, from red and pink to green. They’re also a source of fibre and vitamin C, and their variety of flavours means there's an apple for everyone.

Where are apples grown in Australia?

Our apples are 100% Australian grown and handpicked with care by our expert growers in colder climate areas, such as southern Victoria, Batlow in NSW, the Adelaide Hills, and Tasmania’s Huon Valley.

Although apples are available year-round, new season Australian apples are typically harvested between February and June, making autumn the peak time for their availability. For more, see our seasonal fruit and veg calendar.

How to pick

Apples should be bright and crunchy, with a tight skin and juicy flesh. Our apples have a natural shine and no added wax.

How to use

Beyond being a great snack, apples can be baked, stewed, sautéed, puréed or eaten fresh in sweet and savoury dishes.

How to store

Storing your apples in the fridge keeps them crisp and fresh for longer. Consume within 2 weeks for the best eating.
